Symple is offering a unique service to groundwater modellers.
You can use our computing cluster (we call it SYMPLEST) for history-matching your models using PEST_HP or PESTPP-IES. As presently configured, up to 77 agents are available for parallelized model runs.
If you contact us, we will send you instructions on how to connect remotely to our server, transfer your files, start up agents, and transfer files back again when history-matching is complete. All of this is completely secure.
To save costs, SYMPLEST access protocols are easy. We will give you access to the cluster for the time that you need. Pay us when you are done. We’ll negotiate the cost; it will be much cheaper than a cloud service (of the order of a few tens of few euros per day – less if you are a Symple School attendee).
Use of the SYMPLEST cluster comes with another attractive feature. If you like, Symple staff (including John Doherty, author of PEST) can have a quick look at your results and offer you some advice. If you need it, we can offer more advice on matters such as:
- use of PEST and PEST support software;
- model parameterization;
- regularization and/or uncertainty analysis;
- PEST/PESTPP-IES setup;
- interpretation of results.
This can be done for a small consulting fee.
By the way, the Symple cluster is solar/battery-powered; its carbon footprint is zero.
